TUMBLELINA
TumbleLina became our rescue’s ambassador when FURRR 911 was established, calling attention to special needs kitties and just how amazing they truly are. She provided us with our first experience in the care and special needs of a kitten with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). And to this day, TumbleLina is recognized at adoption and other local events as she “tumbles” into everyone’s hearts!
NOODLE
Noodle was found in a garbage can in Queens bleeding to death from injuries believed to have been caused by being used as dog bait. Our rescue received flack about rescuing Noodle; we were called inhumane for putting him through the trauma of facial reconstruction surgery rather than euthanizing him. Noodle was a fighter from the start and even though he had the most laid back disposition, he was not ready to let go so neither did we!
CHANCE
Chance is a personable orange kitten that was brought in badly injured to the NYC ACC. We knew from the start that he had a badly broken hip that would require expensive surgery, but when the ACC described him as “friendly” and “affectionate” despite the tremendous pain he must have been in, we were smitten. The elbows of his two front legs were smashed. Vet after vet told us it was helpless. More than one suggested euthanasia. But just as we heard these words, we noticed that Chance was alert and trying to clean himself. This was not a kitten who had given up. FURRR 911 took a CHANCE and fought to give him a CHANCE to live a long, healthy life! And we have absolutely no regrets!
